On June 15 at 15:00, Ilia State University will host the opening of the exhibition “Global Entanglements: German Settlers in Georgia (1817–1941)” and a presentation of ongoing academic collaborations between Ilia State University and Germany in Hall G106.
The event will be attended by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Germany to Georgia, Mr. Ernst Peter Fischer, alongside representatives of German foundations and agencies.
The project “Global Entanglements: German Settlers in Georgia (1817–1941)” was implemented through the collaboration of the University of Siegen, Ilia State University, the National Archives of Georgia, and the Association for the Protection of German Cultural Heritage in the South Caucasus. The project was funded by the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media of Germany.
Germany is one of Ilia State University’s most important and strategic partners in international cooperation. The university successfully collaborates with numerous German higher education and research institutions through joint and double-degree programmes, research projects, scientific collaborations, and academic mobility.
