International Child Protection Day

May 22 – A conference dedicated to the International Child Protection Day took place at Ilia State University.

The conference was organized by the students of the School of Graduate Studies (track Psychology). Participants discussed issues of child treatment on governmental, non-governmental and academic levels.

Conference speech was delivered by Ilia State University professors – Simon Janashia and Ketevan Makashvili, members of the Parliament – Ghia Arsenishvili and Koba Khabazi, representative of the Public Defender’s Office – Ana Arghanashvili.Head of the Service Agency for the Disabled, Elderly and Orphans Tamar Makharashvili presented an extensive report on the situation in orphanages.

The conference touched upon the following issues: “Violence among Children and Adolescences,” “Differently Abled Children,” “Orphans and Socially Vulnerable Children” etc.
