Doctor of Historical Sciences, Philipp Egger’s public lecture on “Philanthropy – Foundation of a liberal society”

On October 5, 19:00, Ilia State University G 106 Hall is hosting a public lecture on “Philanthropy – Foundation of a liberal society” delivered by  Philipp Egger, Doctor of Historical Sciences.

Philip Egger has a 20-year work experience in management and strategic planning of the non-profit sector. He is founder and CEO/Director of Swiss foundation GEBERT RÜF STIFTUNG, which has been providing grants for development of education, research and innovation since 1998. Dr. Egger has been member of the Advisory Committee of the CEPS Swiss Centrefor Philanthropy Studies in the University of Basel since 2008 along with occupying position of a lecturer there. With Dr. Egger’s active support, many scientific and educational projects in the field of social and human sciences have been implemented in Georgia as well as in the South Caucasus in general since 2010.

After the lecture, Doctor Philip Egger will be awarded an honorary doctorate by Ilia State Uniersity.

Simultaneous translations will be provided at the lecture.
