
Ilia State University Institute of Comparative Literature invites you to a plenary lecture on “Multiculturalism and the Problem of Transcultural Unity” on October 19, Monday, 18:00, at Ilia State University Book House “Ligamus”. Event is held within the framework of the 6th Conference of the Ilia State University Institute of Comparative Literature: “Literature in monocultural/multicultural society”. Professor Claes G. Ryn from the Catholic University of America (Washington, USA) will be giving the speech at the plenary.
Claes Ryn’s teaching and research have been interdisciplinary, spanning ethics and politics, politics and culture, the historical consciousness, epistemology, the history of Western political thought, conservatism, liberalism, and constitutionalism. Ryn is Chairman and co-founder of the National Humanities Institute, which studies the moral and cultural bases of civilization. He is editor of the scholarly journal Humanitas.
