
On April 14, at 17:00, at Ilia State University Book House Ligamus, The Institute of Linguistic Studies of Ilia State University and Mobile and Web Applications Laboratory GeoLab are inviting you to the discussion 100 Years Jubilee of the National Language: Future of the Georgian Language in the Era of Technology and Globalization.
Speakers will present the main issue of discussion from different perspectives: how much the public comprehends its responsibility to Georgian as an official language and how this paramount responsibility is replaced with the tradition of respecting the Georgian language for which the foundation was laid by the historic event of April 14.
Speakers will focus on the issues as follows:
The discussion will present less known facts for public from historic events of 1918, namely, the Ordinance on Nationalization of Schools and Institutions, which was published in 1918 and thanks to which Georgian as a national language started to exist legally.
In the discussion will be involved: Sandro Asatiani, Nino Doborjginidze, Giorgi Vakhtangishvili, Tamar Kalkhitashvili, Irina Lobjanidze, Akaki Razmadze, and Zura Jishkariani.
