The project aims to examine how regional conflicts have influenced the formation and evolution of relations between the countries of the South Caucasus and the Middle East.\u00a0 The research project is\u00a0supported by the Higher Education and Science Committee of MESC RA (Project N\u00a025YR-6A008).<\/p>\n<p><strong>About the Presenters<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Mushegh Ghahriyan<\/strong>\u00a0(Institute for Armenian Studies, Yerevan State University and Institute of Oriental Studies) is the head of the project. He earned his PhD in History in 2016. Mushegh Ghahriyan&#8217;s research interests include the modern history and foreign policies of the Arab states, Armenia\u2019s foreign policy, and Armenian\u2013Arab relations.\u00a0His recent publications include\u00a0<em>\u201cBuilding a Broad Partnership: The Evolution of Armenia\u2013UAE Relations\u201d<\/em>\u00a0(<em>Contemporary Review of the Middle East<\/em>, 2025) and\u00a0<em>\u201cThe Independence Referendum in Iraqi Kurdistan: Egypt\u2019s Position and Coverage in Egyptian Online Media\u201d<\/em>\u00a0(<em>British Journal of Middle Eastern Studies<\/em>, 2024).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Aram Abajyan<\/strong>\u00a0(research fellow,\u00a0Institute of Oriental Studies) received his PhD from the Faculty of Political Science and Public Administration at Shandong University in 2017. His research interests focus on China\u2019s Middle East policy, the Belt and Road Initiative and its implementation and prospects in the Middle East and the South Caucasus, as well as the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and the Gulf Cooperation Council.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Moderator: George Sanikidze (Project&#8217;s\u00a0foreign\u00a0consultant)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Working language: English<\/p>\n<p>Time: May 21, 16:00<\/p>\n<p>Location: Ilia State University, 201\/202 meeting hall of Building S, Acad.
