{"id":19166,"date":"2025-01-13T11:55:22","date_gmt":"2025-01-13T07:55:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/events.iliauni.edu.ge\/?post_type=tribe_events&#038;p=19166"},"modified":"2025-01-13T11:56:12","modified_gmt":"2025-01-13T07:56:12","slug":"public-defense-of-the-dissertation-by-doctoral-student-ivane-lomidze","status":"publish","type":"tribe_events","link":"https:\/\/events.iliauni.edu.ge\/en\/event\/public-defense-of-the-dissertation-by-doctoral-student-ivane-lomidze\/","title":{"rendered":"Public defense of the dissertation by doctoral student Ivane Lomidze"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Public defense of the doctoral dissertation \u201cLiberal Realism: Politics of Difference beyond Universalist-Contextualist Debate\u201d by the doctoral student of the doctoral programme\u00a0<em>Philosophy<\/em>, Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Ilia State University, Ivane Lomidze, will be held on January 14, at 13:00, under the Cotutelle Agreement between University of M\u00fcnster (Westf\u00e4lische Wilhelms-Universit\u00e4t M\u00fcnster) and Ilia State University.<\/p>\n<p>The joint project gives the doctoral student an opportunity to defend a dissertation based on the\u00a0<em>cotutelle<\/em>\u00a0principle and obtain a double doctoral degree and diplomas from both universities.<\/p>\n<p>The dissertation examines the problem of difference in democratic theory, critiquing liberalism\u2019s universalism and realism\u2019s inability to normatively adjudicate differences.
