As part of the university’s capacity development program, Ilia State University will organize a public lecture on the topic: “From idea to company: 5 main ingredients for success” On October 13, at 18:00 PM.<\/p>\n

Speaker of the meeting will be:<\/strong> Karina Sotnik, Founder and CEO of WorldUpstart<\/p>\n

Karina Sotnik is a serial entrepreneur, mentor, and advisor with over a decade of experience creating entrepreneurial ecosystems. She launched and ran the AppItUP Challenge, a digital accelerator for novel mobile technologies resulting in creation of 19 new companies. At the latter, she oversaw the Life Science commercialization program with 22 participating universities and built a cutting-edge MedTech accelerator focused on US market entry.\u00a0 in the past decade, Karina also launched and developed WorldUpstart, a consulting firm which has two missions: helping global companies in Healthcare enter the US market and helping academic institutions in the US and around the world build innovative commercialization programs.<\/p>\n

The meeting will be moderated by:<\/strong> Davit Chechelashvili – tech entrepreneur, marketing and business development specialist<\/p>\n

From September 2021, the American Councils for International Education, with the financial support of the US Embassy in Georgia, is implementing the “University Capacity Building Program” (UCBP), which aims to develop an entrepreneurial culture in higher educational institutions of Georgia, promote the process of commercialization of technologies and cooperation between universities, businesses and government structures.<\/p>\n

In October-November, universities and government organizations involved in the project will host American experts and implement joint projects aimed at deepening the partnership between Georgian and American educational institutions, sharing American experience and thematic strengthening of institutions.<\/p>\n
