The mission of our research team is to analyze contemporary issues related to de facto states and the Black Sea area, enriching perceptions of the region and furthering international<br \/>\nunderstanding.<\/p>\n<p>The Center is not taking any institutional policy positions. Our research team is publishing a range of<br \/>\nviews from our members and external contributors, free to express their own view on the issues related to the Caucasus.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The Policy Center is conduction research on the following topics:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li>The conflict between Armenia, and Azerbaijan in Nagorno-Karabakh<\/li>\n<li>The conflict between Georgia and Abkhazia<\/li>\n<li>The conflict between Georgia and South-Ossetia<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0International Law in Caucasus<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Security and Defence in Caucasus<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Migration and refugee crisis in Caucasus<\/li>\n<li>Environmental issues in Caucasus<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Challenges in the EU\u2019s and EEU\u2019s neighbourhoods<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Policy Center brings together key actors from the broad policy community in Europe and Russia &#8211;<br \/>\npoliticians, officials, media, academia, diplomats, business, unions, NGOs &#8211; during events and<br \/>\nconferences.<\/p>\n<p><strong>PRESENTERS<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Dr. Michael Eric LAMBERT<\/strong><br \/>\nMichael owns a Ph.D. in History of Europe &amp; International Relations at Sorbonne University (France)<br \/>\nwith a focus on the EU-Russia in post-Soviet space. Following publications for the French Ministry of<br \/>\nArmed Forces, he worked at the University of Ottawa (Canada) as a Visiting Researcher. He joined the<br \/>\nCaucasus Initiative in April 2016.<br \/>\nHe will present the project in general and his main conclusions regarding the increasing<br \/>\ninfluence of the Eurasian Economic Union in Caucasus.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sophie CLAMADIEU<\/strong><br \/>\nFollowing her dual Master \/ LLM at the University of Aix Marseille (France) and the University of<br \/>\nOttawa (Canada), Sophie did an internship at the Special Tribunal for Lebanon and the International<br \/>\nCriminal Tribunal for the Former-Yugoslavia in the Hague. She joined Caucasus Initiative in April 2016.<br \/>\nShe will present her main conclusions regarding the partial recognition of Abkhazia by the<br \/>\nInternational Community.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Mihail PRESLE<\/strong><br \/>\nMihail is currently enrolled in IESEG\u2019s M.Sc. in Management and Finance (France) with a focus on<br \/>\nInternational economics and trade in the post-Soviet space.
