SUMMARY:Lectures on Sustainable Urban Mobility
DESCRIPTION:Georgian universities and Dresden Technical University have been collaborating since 2020 to develop a lecture course on urban mobility. \nIn May and June 2022\, professors and academic staff at Dresden Technical University\, along with lecturers from Georgia\, will deliver 14 lectures at Ilia State University\, Georgian Technical University and other universities of Georgia. \nLectures are divided into four thematic blocks and focus on mobility safety and behavior\, traffic-related environment pollution and mobility planning. \nThe series of lectures was created to improve university education in sustainable urban mobility. DESCRIPTION:On May 6\, at 17:00\, the guest speaker to open the Alumni Talks will be Giorgi Gvalia\, Professor of politics and international relations at ISU. Having worked for years in various administrative positions at the university\, Giorgi currently is Vice Rector for Teaching. He earned his doctoral degree in Political Sciences from ISU in 2013. \nThe speaker will share his story as a former ISU doctoral student. He will talk about his path to success and the challenges PhD students may face during their many-year research work.
