DESCRIPTION:Speaker Prof. Christian Körner  \nProfessor Christian Körner is one of the most luminous representatives of the famous School of Alpine Ecology of Innsbruck. He was born in 1949 in the city of Salzburg\, Austria. He defended his doctoral thesis on the issues of alpine plant ecology under the supervision of famous Physiological Plant Ecologist Walter Larcher. Before 1989\, he worked at the Institute of Botany of Innsbruck. In 1989\, he was granted the title of the professor of Botany and took up the post of the director at the Institute of Botany\, University of Basel. Since 2015\, he has been the professor emeritus. He is the author of more than 400 science articles and several books. Prof. Körner also was the member of editorial board of Science Journal. At present\, he is the editor of journals Oekologia and Alpine Botany and member of science academies at a number of countries. He has been involved in active cooperation with his colleague scientists at Ilia State University and the Institute of Botany for 40 years. His book Alpine Plant Life: Functional plant ecology was published in Georgian by ISU.
