DESCRIPTION:Ilia State University starts series of meetings on Gender Differences and Equality. Meetings will take place every Friday\, 7 p.m.\, in Iliauni bookstore “Ligamus”. \nThe first meeting in scope of the project will take place on October 31\, 7 p.m. We will discuss project idea\, its necessity and will identify future meeting themes and format. \nMeetings will include discussions; any participant may get involved. You will have opportunity to listen to interesting presentations and learn about international practices.\nWe are inviting anyone who is interested to attend the meeting. \nFirst meeting time: October 31\, 7 p.m\nLocation: bookstore “Ligamus” \nAttendance is free. \nIlia State University offers “Ligamus” space on Friday evenings to anyone who is interested in this subject. DESCRIPTION:Philosophy Professor Georg Lomann of University of Magdeburg is holding public lectures on human rights on November 5\, 6\, and 7. The event is organized by Ilia State University Social and Cultural Research Institute.\nLecture 1: („Different Conceptions and a General Concept of Human Rights“\nNovember 5\, 12:00 p.m. E 235 hall\nLecture 2: „How to Justify Global Social Rights“\nNovember 6\, 15:00 p.m. E 304 hall\nLecture 3: „Tolerance and the Right to Freedom of Expression“\nNovember 6\, 15:00 p.m. E 401 hall \nLectures are held in English with consequent translations.\nAttendance is free. \nGeorg Lomann is a prominent human rights theorist. He worked in University of Vienna as a visiting professor; since 1996 he is a Professor of philosophy in University f Magdeburg. Since 2009 he is a researcher at interdisciplinary research center in Bielefeld University. Georg Lemann has published the following books: \n• „Democratic Society and Civil Virtues in East and West” („Demokratische Zivilgesellschaft und Bürgertugenden in Ost und West“)\, 2002;\n• „Are Human Rights Universally Important? Arguing and Questioning “(„GeltenMenschenrechte universal? Begründungen und Infragestellungen“)\, 2008;\n• „Human Rights. Interdisciplinary Manual” („Menschenrechte.
