SUMMARY:U.S. Embassy Information Meeting
DESCRIPTION:On Friday\, October 1\, 2010 at 4PM at Ilia State University in Tbilisi\, the U.S. Embassy Consular Chief\, Patrick R. Wingate\, will hold the presentation on the Diversity Visa Lottery Program for 2012\, otherwise known as the “Green Card Lottery.” \nThe Green Card Lottery\, offers eligible applicants the opportunity to legally immigrate to the United States based on the random\, computerized selection of all eligible entries from around the world. Each year\, 55\,000 immigrant visas are made available to qualified applicants born in a country with a low rate of immigration to the United States. \nThe new season for Green Card Lottery entries will last a total of thirty days beginning on Tuesday\, October 5\, 2010 and ending on Wednesday\, November 3\, 2010.  The only web site from which you may officially enter your name for the lottery is www.dvlottery.state.gov. Entering the Green Card Lottery is completely free of charge.   Beginning May 1\, 2011 this is also the only site from which you will be able to check if you have won the lottery using the confirmation number provided at the time of you entered.  Absolutely no/no letters or e-mails will be mailed out to notify winners. \nThe U.S. Embassy strongly discourages applicants from using any private businesses (visa facilitators) or translation services to enter the Green Card Lottery as these services are unnecessary\, often fraudulent\, and could damage the applicant’s chances of being granted a U.S. visa.\nAdditional information sessions will be offered in Kutaisi\, Telavi\, and Rustavi over the next few weeks.  Please refer to http://georgia.usembassy.gov for the latest information about the Green Card Lottery. \n\n[wpai_display_imported_files_here]

It will include open lectures for the senior students (grades 10\, 11\, 12). SUMMARY:Festive Graduation for Undergraduate Students
DESCRIPTION:In 2010\, more than thousand undergraduate students completed their studies at the Ilia State University. Festive Ceremony of graduation was held on June 26. \nRector of the University\, Prof. Gigi Tevzadze congratulated the graduates and addressed them with the following words: “We gave you the highest possible freedom –  the freedom of choice. I wish you success as it is a prerequisite for calmness and freedom.” \nGraduates were greeted by the Public Defender of Georgia\, Giorgi Tughushi who noted that: “Life is full of challenges and obstacles. The knowledge received at the Ilia State University will support you in the process of overcoming the challenges.” \nTraditionally\, a number of students addressed the audience. According to them\,  Ilia State University met their expectations. What attracted them most is the liberal system and interesting student life. \nOfficial part of the ceremony was followed by a concert. Elene Kalandadze\, Ilia State University student who participated in the project “Star Academy” entertained the audience along with a band. \nAt the end of each academic year\, on the last Saturday of June\, Ilia State University celebrates the BA graduation ceremony. \n\n[wpai_display_imported_files_here]

DESCRIPTION:Association “Rondine” invites professors and students of the Ilia State University to a meeting on July 19\, at 3pm (address: building A\, room #101\, 32 Ilia Chavchavadze Ave.). During the meeting\, association will present the project “Wind of Peace on Caucasus” and a document titled “14 Points of Rondine – For Peace in the Caucasus” that was elaborated in the framework of the project. During the event representatives of the Ilia State University and nine Italian Universities will sign framework agreement on cooperation and lauch of exchange programs for professors and students. \nMeeting will be attended by the President of the association “Rondine”\, representative of the local government of Arezzo\, professor from the University of Siena\, students from the city of Rondine who come from different conflict regions of the world. DESCRIPTION:May 22 – A conference dedicated to the International Child Protection Day took place at Ilia State University. \nThe conference was organized by the students of the School of Graduate Studies (track Psychology). It will take place at 32 Ilia Chavchavadze Avenue (former “Sulkhan Saba Institute”)\, 1st floor. \nIlia State University declares admissions to the two-year graduate program of Education Administration. The program was developed by the Ilia State University and the University of California\, Los Angeles (UCLA). \nProgram of the Education Administration sets the goal to prepare the leaders with relevant knowledge and ability to manage any institution or process\, which has to deal with education on national and international levels. Graduates of the program will be highly skilled professionals who are able to conduct research in the realm of education and will be experts on education related social contexts.
