DESCRIPTION:Ilia State University invites you to several interesting events on the international book and copyright day. \nThus\, on Wednesday\, April 23: \nFrom 11 a.m.  and all week a Book Drive will be set up by ISU A building entrance (Chavchavadze 32) – donate books that will be passed on to high altitude regions. \nFrom 11 a.m. and all day a wandering book event will take place on the bookstore Ligamus patio – leave or take books that you like. \n1 p.m. Iliauni students will stage a flash mob on Chavchavadze Av. \n2 p.m. National library will present Georgian nominees for the international Astrid Lindgren Award\, in bookstore Ligamus. \n3 p.m. A special guest\, children’s books author and illustrator\, Sandro Asatiani will read fairy tales to 6-8- year-olds in bookstore Ligamus. DESCRIPTION:Famous Jazz pianist Justin Kauflin will conduct a seminar for Music School students in Iliauni Theater lobby\, April 29\, 1 p.m. He will talk about Jazz and about challenges that people with disabilities face. \nJustin Kauflin\, recipient of numerous awards lost vision at the age of 11. He graduated from New Jersey Paterson University\, under the leadership of legendary jazz trumpet performer\, Clark Terry. Justin Kauflin performed with his trio in famous Virginia Jazz-club\, Havana Nights\, in 2011-2013. He also gave solo performances. \nJustin Kauflin received VSA young artists’ international award. He was named as a “Jazz performer of the year” by VEER Magazine. The great Quincy Jones has acknowledged him in „Quincy Jones’ Artist Roster”. Justin Kauflin participated in Quincy Jones anniversary world tour. \nCurrently\, he works on his own album and album\, dedicated to Clark Terry. It is lead by MDF chairman Tamar Kintsurashvili\, executive director of this foundation\, Tamar Khorbaladze and human rights law specialist and GDI member\, Giorgi Mshveniaradze. \nMDF and GDI implement the project “Opposing Xenophobia and Discrimination in Georgian Politics and Media” in scope of program “Enhancing National Integration in Georgia”\, with the financial aid of UNA Georgia and USAID. \nThe aim of the project is to unite civil sector to oppose xenophobia and discrimination and develop united civil platform – “No to Phobia”.
