DESCRIPTION:On April 23\, 17:00\, NGO “Identity” with support of the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Georgia invites  all interested parts to attend the lecture-discussion  on “ LGBT Movement Peculiarities in the Post-Soviet Countries” at Ilia State University Conference Hall (Venue: G. Tsereteli 3).  The lecture will be delivered by Shorena Gabunia\, a graduate student of Art History & Theory. \nThe meeting aims to familiarize students with LGBT (Lesbian\, Gay\, Bisexual and Transgender) related issues.  The meeting will be interactive to facilitate the involvement of students in the discussion. \nThe discussion will assist students\, concentrating on law\, social\, psychological\, medical and journalism specializations\, to expand their professional horizons. \nAll interested students are given a chance: \nto get involved in additional activities\, to participate in trainings and other events in order to deepen their knowledge in LGBT- related fields. \nto prepare themes and take part in two-day conference planned for December of 2012. The best 20 themes will be presented at the conference. DESCRIPTION:On April 11\, 15:00\, Ilia State University will host a presentation of the research “Tbilisi Mineral Water Market – The Choice of Consumers”. The research is prepared by Iliauni Business Review (IBR). \nVenue: G. Tsereteli 2\, Former Encyclopedia Building\, G Hall 106 \nThe research aims at identifying the most popular mineral water in Georgia. The research was conducted from March 10 to 20 and 15 market objects of Populi network were studied in the eleven regions of Tbilisi. The choice of 65-75 people was fixed in each market object.  The research is focused on the choice of consumers and it doesn’t show the number of products sold. \nThe choice of 1054 people was studied in Tbilisi. The results are listed according to the brands\, the regions of Tbilisi\, sex and age groups. Tsereteli 1. \nAttendance is free. \nDr. Melnick has been an Executive Dean of the Global Institute of Sustainability (GIOS) and Chief Operating Officer since 2008. Prior to this position\, he served at Arizona State University (ASU) as Director of the Morrison Institute for Public Policy and Associate Vice- President for Economic Affairs; Senior Researcher and Vice-President of Hudson Institute. Dr. Melnick conducts research on urban growth and economic development. He is a co-author of three books and numerous public policy research studies. Iliauni Business Review (IBR) studied the huge and network bookshops in Tbilisi: “Biblusi”\, “Laterna”\, “Ligamus”\, “Parnassus” and “Book House”. \nThe research aimed to analyze the prices fixed by the bookshops operating in the market of Georgia. Accordingly\, the research outcomes highlighted the bookshops supplying books to their customers with the lowest price. It’s planned to familiarize a broad society with the research outcomes. \nThe twenty types of books included the cognitive and fictional literature were studied under the research. This publication is an outcome of the research project\, implemented with support of Academic Swiss Caucasus Net (ASCN). \nThe authors of the book are: George Gvalia\, ISU Assistant Professor\, Zurab Iashvili\, Researcher at the Department of Arts and Sciences and Bidzina Lebanidze\, PhD at Berlin Graduate School for Transnational Studies. The book is published by Ilia State University Press. \nThis research is based on study of the foreign policy of several post-soviet countries\, opposites the widespread approach to the foreign policy of small countries in the international relations and argues that regardless of the systematic influence\, Georgia has kept its pro-Western foreign policy orientation which is mainly defined by the identity of current political elite. \n\n[wpai_display_imported_files_here]

SUMMARY:AFELSH – Executive Committee Session
DESCRIPTION:On March 22-23\, Ilia State University will host a session of AFELSH executive committee. AFELSH (Association des Facultés ou Etablissements de Lettres et Sciences humaines) is one of the most important francophonie networks\, being established in 1994.  Since 2010\, Ilia State University has been a representative of the central and eastern European universities in the executive committee of AFELSH. Professor Mzaghve Dokhturishvili is a member of the committee. \nTwice a year\, the association organizes international conferences\, congresses\, takes part in symposiums or conferences organized by other francophonie networks and publishes electronic versions of the conference materials. For instance\, see the materials of the congress held in 2010: \nhttp://www.arts.uottawa.ca/afelsh/archives.html \nOne of the vital works of the association is related to the assessment of academic courses at bachelor\, master and doctoral levels; supports the mobility of students\, teachers and researchers. AUF (the University Agency of Francophonie which incorporates 800 universities worldwide and Ilia State University is an associate member of it) supports the association. \nAmong the most important projects\, the association implements a project linked to the establishment of the regional doctoral colleges.  Such kind of the college has already been launched for the Middle East\, named CODFRAMO – Collège doctoral de français au Moyen Orient. On March 23\, the executive committee meeting will be dedicated to the launching of the mentioned doctoral colleges within the university space of the Central and Eastern Europe. \nThe doctoral college will be a regional scientific-research network which incorporates the universities and scientific institutions of the region\, researchers\, heads of doctoral dissertations and doctoral students. It provides interaction and mobility among them\, supports organization of the joint seminars\, conferences\, researches and creation of the regional database\, resource center and etc. On March 23\, the second half of the session will be held at Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University (building 5\, 3rd floor\, CNF). The deans of the faculties of Philology and Humanitarian sciences\, heads of field doctoral programs\, PhD students are invited to the session. DESCRIPTION:On March 21\, 15:00\, Ilia State University G 106 conference hall will host a presentation of the research “The Most Demanded Professions and Top 30 Employers” by Iliauni Business Review (IBR). \n\nIBR studied the announcements of the most popular two web-portals in Georgia (www.jobs.ge and www.HR.com.ge  ) in accordance with professions\, companies and regions. The research illustrates a salary rate change according to the business sectors\, all highest/ lowest paying jobs.  2251 vacancies have been reviewed. As well\, IBR has listed the top 30 employers on the basis of the information of the companies. \nThe research states the vacancies which are in-demand out of the country\, from Ukraine\, Germany\, South Africa and Qatar in particular. In addition\, the research released the highest paying vacancies. \nThe research outcomes are interesting for state and non-governmental organizations\, private companies\, media\, universities\, students and people looking for a job. \nThe research will be conducted periodically (once in three months) and all interested parts will be able to get information about the changes in the labor market. \nIliauni Business Review (IBR) is prepared by the researchers of the Center of Economic Researches and Consultations at Ilia State University Department of Business. \n\n\n[wpai_display_imported_files_here]
