DESCRIPTION:On April 25\, 15:00\, Ilia State University will host a presentation of the research “New Buildings Research – Price Analysis” by Iliauni Business Review. \nThe research covers in-depth information on new buildings in Tbilisi. More precisely\, it discusses the fixed price per square meter according to the districts of Tbilisi.  The research illustrates the ranking of the building companies.  In addition\, the research points up the living and non-commercial spaces.  The search was conducted from March 20 to April 20\, 2012. 39 building companies were studied under this research. DESCRIPTION:On May 16\, 16:00\, American Lawyers Ms. Diane Glauber and Mr. David Zisser will meet ISU students within the framework of the project “Community Development and Civil Rights – Experience Sharing”. Venue: Ilia State University Hall A 101. \nStudents will be given the chance to get information on the legal aid system and familiarize with the experience of the American Lawyers. Mr. Irakil Kobidze\, Director of Legal Aid Service\, will talk about the legal aid system in Georgia. \nThe development of Community Benefits Agreement took start in the United States of America\, California in particular. The Community Benefits Agreement implies the contract signed by a developer and local population (community groups) in the process of implementing specific investing projects. The local government could be one of the parts or participants of the agreement. The signatories are committed to meet their obligations undertaken through this legal document. \nThe Legal Aid System of Georgia started functioning in 2005 by the way of several pilot programs\, which were financed by international donor organizations. On June 19\, 2007\, the Parliament of Georgia adopted the law on Legal Aid\, covering the territory of Georgia. DESCRIPTION:On April 23\, 17:00\, NGO “Identity” with support of the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Georgia invites  all interested parts to attend the lecture-discussion  on “ LGBT Movement Peculiarities in the Post-Soviet Countries” at Ilia State University Conference Hall (Venue: G. Tsereteli 3).  The lecture will be delivered by Shorena Gabunia\, a graduate student of Art History & Theory. \nThe meeting aims to familiarize students with LGBT (Lesbian\, Gay\, Bisexual and Transgender) related issues.  The meeting will be interactive to facilitate the involvement of students in the discussion. \nThe discussion will assist students\, concentrating on law\, social\, psychological\, medical and journalism specializations\, to expand their professional horizons. \nAll interested students are given a chance: \nto get involved in additional activities\, to participate in trainings and other events in order to deepen their knowledge in LGBT- related fields. \nto prepare themes and take part in two-day conference planned for December of 2012. DESCRIPTION:On April 11\, 15:00\, Ilia State University will host a presentation of the research “Tbilisi Mineral Water Market – The Choice of Consumers”. The research is prepared by Iliauni Business Review (IBR). \nVenue: G. Tsereteli 2\, Former Encyclopedia Building\, G Hall 106 \nThe research aims at identifying the most popular mineral water in Georgia. The research was conducted from March 10 to 20 and 15 market objects of Populi network were studied in the eleven regions of Tbilisi. The choice of 65-75 people was fixed in each market object.  The research is focused on the choice of consumers and it doesn’t show the number of products sold. \nThe choice of 1054 people was studied in Tbilisi. The results are listed according to the brands\, the regions of Tbilisi\, sex and age groups. DESCRIPTION:On April 10\, at 6:00 p.m.\, Ilia State University will host a public lecture on “Challenges to a Sustainable World: Role of Public Policy in Georgia” by Dr. Robert Melnick\, Professor at Arizona State University.  Venue: ISU Hall G 106\, G. Tsereteli 1. \nAttendance is free. \nDr. Melnick has been an Executive Dean of the Global Institute of Sustainability (GIOS) and Chief Operating Officer since 2008. Prior to this position\, he served at Arizona State University (ASU) as Director of the Morrison Institute for Public Policy and Associate Vice- President for Economic Affairs; Senior Researcher and Vice-President of Hudson Institute. Dr. Melnick conducts research on urban growth and economic development. He is a co-author of three books and numerous public policy research studies. DESCRIPTION:On April 4\, 15:00\, Ilia State University G 106 Conference Hall (Venue: G. Tsereteli 2\, Former Encyclopedia Building) will host a presentation of the research prepared by Iliauni Business Review (IBR). Iliauni Business Review (IBR) studied the huge and network bookshops in Tbilisi: “Biblusi”\, “Laterna”\, “Ligamus”\, “Parnassus” and “Book House”. \nThe research aimed to analyze the prices fixed by the bookshops operating in the market of Georgia. Accordingly\, the research outcomes highlighted the bookshops supplying books to their customers with the lowest price. It’s planned to familiarize a broad society with the research outcomes. \nThe twenty types of books included the cognitive and fictional literature were studied under the research. DESCRIPTION:On March 27\, 17:00\, Ilia State University bookstore “Ligamus” will host a presentation of the book titled “Political Elites\, Ideas and Foreign Policy: Explaining and Understanding the International Behavior of Small States in the Former Soviet Union”. This publication is an outcome of the research project\, implemented with support of Academic Swiss Caucasus Net (ASCN). \nThe authors of the book are: George Gvalia\, ISU Assistant Professor\, Zurab Iashvili\, Researcher at the Department of Arts and Sciences and Bidzina Lebanidze\, PhD at Berlin Graduate School for Transnational Studies. The book is published by Ilia State University Press. \nThis research is based on study of the foreign policy of several post-soviet countries\, opposites the widespread approach to the foreign policy of small countries in the international relations and argues that regardless of the systematic influence\, Georgia has kept its pro-Western foreign policy orientation which is mainly defined by the identity of current political elite. \n\n[wpai_display_imported_files_here]
