The members of the jury are professors and students of the Ilia State University. \nHISTORY OF ILIAUNI LITERARY COMPETIOTION\nIliauni Literay Competition has existed for 6 years. In 2010\, the accademic board of the university introduced a literary award for the best novel. \nBefore 2015\, the award was won by 5 contestants. In 2010\, the prize was won by Aka Morchiladze for the novel “Mamluki”\, while in 2011\, the award was bestowed upon Zaza Burtchuladze for the novel “Inflatable Angel.” In 2013\, the award was granted to Ana Kordzaia-Samadashvili for thde novel “Who Killed Chak” and Jaba Zakrua for his novel “The Reader Must Die.” \nIn 2014\, Academic Board of Ilia State University decided to bestow the award upon the best translator of a foreign language novel. DESCRIPTION:On May 23\, 15:00\, at Ilia State University Book House Ligamus\, with the support of the programme “Academic Swiss Caucasus Network\,” a workshop will be held on the topic “The History and Feature of Europe.” The workshop will be led by Professors of the University of Fribourg (Switzerland)\, Christian Giordano and Siegfried Weichlein. \nRegarding the Speakers \nChristian Giordano\, Swiss Anthropologist and Sociologist\, is a full professor of the University of Fribourg and Director of Institute of Social Anthropology. Since 2002\, he has presided over Interfaculty Institute for Central and East Europe. In the list of his numerous works are as follows:  “World Outlook\, Political Activities and Economy in the Process of Post-Communist Transitions (I-II) (1993 წ.)\, “Anthropology and Ethics” (1994)\, “Interethnic Relations and Politics of Multiculturalism: Between Southeast Europe and South-East Asia (2005)\, etc.\nSiegfried Weichlein has been a professor of Modern History of European Switzerland at Fribourg University since 2006; since 2014\, he has held a post of full professor of the Department of Historical Sciences of the same university. His research areas are as follows: the History of Germany and Europe\, the History of Political Culture\, Nationalism of Regionalism\, Cultural History of Cold War\, etc. His research projects include: “Political Iconography of Federalism (2012-2014)\, “Mission of History\, Globalization and Transfer of Knowledge” (2015-2018)\, “The Cold War as Political Imagination” (2014-2017). DESCRIPTION:On May 21\, at 19:00\, at Book House Ligamus of Ilia State University\, within the events “Ilia State University turns 10 years old\,” a meeting will be held with writer Etgar Keret. The meeting has been organized by the First Tbilisi International Festival of Literature and Ilia State University. \nRegarding the Writer\nWriter and playwright Etgar Keret was born in Ramat Gan\, in 1967. Today he lives in Tel Aviv. Etgar Keret has been honoured with a number of literary and film awards. He was also awarded with the Medal of French arts and literature. At the Cannes Film Festival\, his wife and he received Golden Camera for the best feature film “Medusa”. At the Acco Festival of Alternative Israeli Theatre\, he won the 1st place. Mr. Kerret’s writings have been published by such popular magazines as Wall Street Journal\, Paris Review and New Yorker. The meeting has been organized by the First Tbilisi International Festival of Literature and Ilia State University. \nModerator – producer and translator\, Guram Ghonghadze \nRegarding the Author\n\nWriter DBC Pierre was born in Australia\, in 1961. However\, along with his family he mostly lived in Mexico. Before taking up writing\, rather scandalous young Pierre was an enthusiastic painter. His first book Vernon God Little was published in 2001 and instantly won worldwide acclaim. This was the first book having been granted both Whitbread and Booker Awards. Moreover\, the book was published in 43 countries including Georgia. It was later followed by two novels “Ludmila’s Broken English” published in 2006 and “Lights Out in Wonderland\,” edited in 2010. SUMMARY:LUDVIG LAHER HOLDS WORKSHOP
DESCRIPTION:On May 17\, 2016\, at 11:00\, at Ilia state university Book House Ligamus\, Australian poet and translator Ludwig Laher held a 3-hour workshop and got the participants familiarized with his literary method. DESCRIPTION:On May 13\, at 16:00\, at Ilia State University a presentation of a new certification course “Climate Change “will be arranged. After the presentation\, international expert\, Hans Verolme\, will deliver a public lecture\, while Georgian experts will focus the attention of the audience on the challenges posed to Georgia in the era of climate change.  \nThe event is being held with the financial support of Heinrich Böll Foundation within the framework of the project by Analytical Fund World Experience for Georgia (WEG)\, which aims to foster the advancement of civil society\, public sector and educational institutions. \nThe Faculty of Earth Sciences of Ilia State University\, as well as the Institute of Energy and Sustainable Development are actively involved in research activities related to climate change. The new certification course of “Climate Change “will be a step forward in this direction. \nAim of the Certification CourseThe certification course aims to provide the audience with exhaustive information regarding global climate change and economic\, social and environmental threats posed to the earth today\, as well as present them with different possibilities to repel these threats and change the situation for the better. The audience will also be informed regarding initiations of International Collaboration and Georgia’s possible involvement in them.  \nRegarding Hans VerolmeHans Verolme has worked on the issues of climate change for 20 years. Now he performs his professional activities in Berlin. In the past\, he was a Senior Advisor at British Embassy and WWF Director. In 2008\, he founded the International Network centering on devising climate change policy throughout the world. DESCRIPTION:On May 13\, at 13:00\, at E207 room of Ilia State University\, within the event\, “Ilia State University turns 10 years old\,” at the initiation of ISU Business School\, a public lecture was held under the rubric “Achievements and Challenges of Modern Organizations.” \nTopic of the Lecture: How players overcome challenges – Learning from the Best \nAim of the Lecture: together with the participants\, to realize a goal of negotiating challenges posed to organizations and achieve success. \nSpeaker: Rector of the University of Bank of Georgia\, Prof. Akaki Kheladze \nRegarding the Speaker\nAkaki Kheladze has held the post of rector of the University of Bank of Georgia since its foundation. He got a PHD within a joint program of the University of Caucasus and Georgia State University\, US.  He also holds an MA in Engineering and Business Administration. In 2002-03\, he attended a special programme for teachers at Georgia State University. Since 2003\, Akaki Kheladze has held leading posts at different organizations. In precisely 2003\, he undertook teaching. He was a dean of the faculty of Economy and Business of Tbilisi State University. He served as a director of MA and PHD programmes at Caucasus School of Business (CSB)\, as well as head of the school’s management department and as a manager of different training programmes. DESCRIPTION:On May 6\, at 19:00\, in room A101 of Ilia State University\, a public lecture by Ioseb Chauchidze on the topic — Against Repressive hypothesis: Foucault and Psychoanalysis was conducted. \nMichel Foucault’s “Istoriq na seksualnostta” (History of Madness) can be deemed to be a more or less systematic attempt to confront Freud’s psychoanalysis. Later\, “The History of Sexuality” passed criticism upon Freud’s entire psychoanalytical theory.  In parallel to this\, Žak Lakan’s interventions shed light on new kinds of tensions in Foucault’s and Freud’s debates. Is it possible to hold a dialogue between Foucault’s genealogical and psychoanalytical methods? What kinds of political consequences can these debates yield? DESCRIPTION:On April 15\, at 17:00\, at G106 room of Ilia State University\, with participation of the Institute of Energy and Sustainable Development of Ilia State University\, WEG and Discussion Club of Energy Experts\, within the workshop series of Energy and Sustainable Development\, a discussion was conducted regarding the topic of Energy in the pre-election period with the crucial problems in Georgia’s Energy Sector having been covered.\nThe topics of discussion were as follows: \n\nThe ongoing process of Georgia’s enrollment in Energy Association\, as well as the results of the appeal by non-governmental organizations to the PM and next steps;\nDiscussion of the present state of energy sector and those acute problems which need to be solved in order to turn energy into a driving force and key tool to development;\nThe professionals specializing in energy sector\, non-governmental organizations and the representatives of different political parties were involved in the discussions.\n\nThe meeting was held in an interactive dialogue format with the participants of the meeting asking questions and expressing their opinions. \nDate and Time: April 15\, 17:00 \n2016 \n\n			\n				\n			\n		\n\n[wpai_display_imported_files_here]
