SUMMARY:Seminars by Professor Paolo Cecchini
DESCRIPTION:Paula B. Cachim has been working as a professor in Civil Engineering Department of University of Aveiro\, Portugal for 22 years. He is author of 5 books\, 2 book chapters\, 35 articles in international scientific journals\, 5 articles in Portuguese journals\, 46 articles in international conferences and 24 articles in Portuguese conferences. He is an editor of 2 books/conference proceedings. He has supervised 3 concluded PhD theses\, 42 concluded master dissertations and 5 PhD theses running and master dissertations running. He participated in 2 European projects and 8 Portuguese competitive funding projects. He is a member of organizing commission of 8 national and international conferences; member of scientific commission of 9 national and international conferences scientific reviewer for more than 80 articles for 27 international scientific journals. His research areas are optimization for structural solutions\, developing software for structural analysis including nonlinear finite element analysis of structures\, precast prestressed slabs\, concrete sections\, columns\, punching\, breakwater preliminary design\, calculating and analyzing structures for seismic actions\, analysis of bridges\, viaducts\, bridge-dam\, wind tower foundations\, prestressed structures\, slabs\, concrete\, steel\, timber and glass structures. \nHe will present two seminars as below:\n \n\nTitle: Fire resistance of timber structures (fire behavior of timber and timber connections\, numerical modeling of timber and timber connections in fire)\n\nWednesday from 18:00 to 20:00 at G 106 auditorium \n\nTitle: Exercise solving for a small structure under fire loading.
