SUMMARY:“Light from Neutrinos“ – Public Lecture by Professor Sudip Jana
DESCRIPTION:On September 19 at 16:00\, in Hall G106 of Ilia State University\, Associate Professor Sudip Jana from the Harish-Chandra Research Institute will deliver a public lecture titled “Light from Neutrinos”. \nThe speaker will discuss non-standard interactions of neutrinos. He will focus on their electromagnetic properties and the connection between the magnetic moment and the mechanism of neutrino mass generation. He will also address models that allow for a large neutrino magnetic moment while preserving their small masses\, and which predict the anomalous magnetic moment of charged leptons. \nThe speaker will explore the prospects for studying non-standard neutrino interactions and electromagnetic properties in future experiments\, both in laboratory settings and astrophysical observations. \nThe presentation is based on published results from the works: hep-ph/2303.13572\, 2203.01950\, 2104.03291\, 2407.06251\, and 2007.04291. \nSudip Jana holds a PhD in Physics from Oklahoma State University\, USA. From 2019 to 2024\, he worked as a researcher at the Max Planck Institute in Heidelberg\, Germany.
