DESCRIPTION:Professor Ketevan Kupatadze of the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Medicine of Ilia State University will hold a popular science lecture “Everything about Sugar” with experiments on February 24\, at 16:00. \nAt the lecture\, students will have the opportunity to learn about sugar\, its characteristics\, as well as engage in interesting laboratory experiments using sugar. \nThe speaker will talk about the following topics: \n\nWhat did Avicenna think about sugar?\nWhen did European kings eat sugar?\nHow did sugar spread?\nWho were the sugar zombies?\nWhat is sugar from a chemical point of view\, what are its characteristics? What happens to it in our bodies?\nHow to recognize hidden sugar in product labels?\nWhat do sugar and honey have in common and how are they different?\nWhat are the safest sweets?\nWhat does sugar have to do in common with salt\, and what does the “taste of salt” mean?\n\nWho is the lecture intended for? \nFor students interested in the topic. \nHow do I participate? \nPre-registration is required to participate in the workshop.
