On April 19, Ilia State University will be hosting the second day of a three-day multidisciplinary international conference entitled “Center and Periphery: Adaptation of Political, Economic, Cultural, and Linguistic Space in Modernity”. The first and third days of the conference will be held on April 18th and 20th, respectively, at Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University and Caucasus University.
The conference brings together Georgian and foreign researchers from various fields to analyze political, economic, cultural, linguistic, and literary processes from the perspective of the relationship between the center and the periphery.
The conference was prepared by the initiative of Lille University and Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University. In addition to the University of Ilia and the University of the Caucasus, the following French institutions were also involved in its organization: French-Georgian University (Université franco-géorgienne), Catholic Institute of Vendée (ICES – Institut Catholique de Vendée), Exis Center for Romane Studies – University of Aix-Marseille (CAER – Aix-Marseille University).
The working languages for the conference are French and English.
