DISCUSSION ON ENERGY IN PRE-ELECTION PERIOD HELD

On April 15, at 17:00, at G106 room of Ilia State University, with participation of the Institute of Energy and Sustainable Development of Ilia State University, WEG and Discussion Club of Energy Experts, within the workshop series of Energy and Sustainable Development, a discussion was conducted regarding the topic of Energy in the pre-election period with the crucial problems in Georgia’s Energy Sector having been covered.
The topics of discussion were as follows:

• The ongoing process of Georgia’s enrollment in Energy Association, as well as the results of the appeal by non-governmental organizations to the PM and next steps;
• Discussion of the present state of energy sector and those acute problems which need to be solved in order to turn energy into a driving force and key tool to development;
• The professionals specializing in energy sector, non-governmental organizations and the representatives of different political parties were involved in the discussions.

The meeting was held in an interactive dialogue format with the participants of the meeting asking questions and expressing their opinions.
