Brief History of Traditional Chinese Theatre

On October 2, 11:00, Ilia State University Hall A101 (Chavchavadze Ave. 32) will host a lecture on “Brief History of Traditional Chinese Theatre” by Professor Shen Lin.

The development process of Chinese theatre, which is characterized by intercultural exchanges, regional diversity and synthesis of various art fields, music, complex costumes and acrobatics, will be discussed at the lecture.

The Chinese traditional theatre was originated in the 13th century A.D. It reflects the synthesis of poetry, dance, song and narration. These mentioned elements have been combined for years and as a result, the theatre has reached its peak of development.
