Meeting with an Austrian Writer Herbert Maurer

On October 25, 5pm Austrian writer Herbert Maurer will visit Ilia State University and hold a lecture “Ilse Aichinger, Clemens Eich and their Caucasian Roots”. The lecture will take place at the following address: 3/5 Cholokhashvili Street, room H104.

Maurer will also talk about a famous book by Clemens Eich (1954–1998) “Notes from Georgia”. It was published at the end of the 90-ies of the last century and caused controversial reaction in the Georgian society because of its critical approach and quite harsh assessments.

Lecture will be conducted in German language. Attendance if free of charge.
